Ultimately, our goal is to be
the core of a unified effort to
reestablish what it means to
be black in America. For too
many of us, being black in
America means you have to work harder
to obtain less. It means discrimination
and racism should be expected in every
encounter from education to employment;
no matter how qualified or talented
you are.
Until we create a society where
we are not dependent on anything outside
of our race, we will continue the cycle
of being sidelined and disregarded by the
general public.
Putting together the framework
where black commerce can
thrive is first priority for the
Mela Nation. We aim to present
practical solutions to dismantle
systemic oppressions and avoid pitfalls in
education, home and business ownership
and employment. We believe that once we
put this co-operative model in action amongst ourselves, the opportunities
created will also curb violence in
our communities.
Our fraternal purpose includes a phased approach to creating an atmosphere of group economics, where members are the sole contributors and benefactors.
There are changes that need to
happen on an individual level
and there are changes that
need to happen collectively;
they are interdependent
on each other. We spend so much time
putting faith into anything but ourselves.
It’s time we try something different.
Fullfilling Our Fraternal Purpose
There is no shortage of talent, aptitude, or
skill across all industries within our culture.
The MNOA will scout the skilled and talented and put them to work for us. As a community we will employ each other, support each other, learn from each other and protect each other.
MORE ABOUT US +
Co-operative Model
As part of our fraternal activities the MNOA will host co-ops where, through a vote, funds will be allocated for a group purchase of food, building supplies,... whatever our community needs.
Technology
We will use technology
to facilitate the growth
of group economics.
We are building a black
business portal where
MNOA members can link up with black owned
manufacturers across the globe.
Social Activism
Social Activism includes staying engaged with each other whether its for fundraising, fellowship or providing support for home-schooled youth. Stay active. Stay involved.
